Architectural Studio V
The Preliminary Studies is a preparatory assignment that focuses on investigating basic notions of the city and learning from precedents around the world. This assignment aims to first introduce students to the basics of urban design and its relation to architecture. Secondly, it will study and determine the programmatic function, societal role, and spatial layout of a Community Centre and architectural responses for urban blocks.
Urban situations – challenges due to the pandemic onto the vulnerable communities: The COVID-19 pandemic has thrown an extreme set of challenges to almost everyone, including the notion of the creative city. The Government has a mission to aid a sustainable recovery path for the creative sector. The question now, according to them, is how we equip ourselves to face this kind of challenge because it seems that the uncertainties will always be there. The UNESCO believes in revival through digitalization as one of the main ways forward. The ADV takes it from both these local and global perspectives, and the conviction is that revival through needful programs such as sharing, collaboration, and digitalization. Sensitive and sensible to the current issues will make a place where human experience and support for a revival become the focus. A place to support all for being skillful and everyday life that is challenged not only the current covid-19 outbreak but also any unexpected future pandemics.
